Visiting Baler - Day 2 (Feb. 24, 2014)
We wake up early for our Dicasalarin Tour. We arrived at the
jump-off point at 6:30 am but the caretaker was not there so we went to Pag-asa
Weather Station first.
It’s already 7am and the caretaker still wasn’t there so
Kuya Dennis instructed us to start walking and once the caretaker arrives he
will follow us to Dica or aplaya, as what they call it. We just followed the
path and after almost 30 minutes of walking, we finally arrived.
It feels that we own the beach. No one is around, just the
two of us. When we are about to climb at the lighthouse, Kuya Dennis arrived.
He accompanied us to the lighthouse. I think there are thousands of steps
before we reached the top. But it is really worth it. The scenic is so
beautiful, so mesmerizing and so amazing. When we were at the top, we saw group
of people coming. At least we arrived first. ;)
We went back to the lodge before we headed to Mother Falls,
because according to Kuya Dennis, some men are blocking the way to the Mother
Falls, if you don’t have the tourism badge. He gets his license first at the
Municipal Hall while we had our coffee. Supposedly, we will have our lunch but
Ate Marivic was not there to prepare it.
Our next stop is the Balete Tree.
Then, the Mother Falls.
Supposedly our next stop will be the Doña Aurora House and
the Church but we refused to go because we already saw it last night. So our
last stop was the Museo de Baler. We are still dripping wet, and I was afraid
that they might not let us in. I think they didn’t notice that we’re wet or
maybe they just really let us in?? Nonetheless, we’re still here, discovering
the museum.
We arrive at our lodge at 2:00 pm and ate our lunch. After
we eat, our plan was to take a nap for 30 minutes then go surfing and wait until
the sunset. Maybe because we’re too tired, we wake up at 5:30 pm. I was really
disappointed with myself because I should be the one managing our time. Here
I am, slashing again our itineraries.
We went to the Souvenir shop and buy our food at the rolling
store.
